Sixth - Talk about luck! Numbers come in handy when they are your lucky number. Add in your lucky number that might strike you big or save you from blushes! If you believe in luck and are superstitious, that is something you might do!

Seventh - How about wedding favors? Getting married is a personal once in a lifetime experience with a special someone. Ladies love it, and with your white golf ball, that is a real complimentary reason that you should love your wife as much as golf!

Eight - Some golf fanatics go crazy over different golf collections and golf sets by decorating their cupboards or collection room with them! They are a way to motivate and inspire someone if there is a special meaning behind it! That is why personalized golf balls are such a big hit.

There are many pieces of golf equipment that are unnecessary for most golfers. One piece of equipment that doesn't fall in that category are golf shoes. There are many different types of golf shoes on the market, so it's hard to find the right pair for you. This article will endeavor to teach you all you need to know about golf shoes so you can make an informed decision when you decide to go buy a pair.

Golf Shoe Type One

The first type of golf shoes that are very popular amongst many players on the PGA, are studded shoes. Now you're probably wondering "isn't every golf shoe studded?" and you're right. Every golf shoe is studded except the types of studs carry from shoe to shoe. The first one we will be talking about is the metal studded golf shoe. In fact the studs are more like metal spikes and gives players extra grip when they are taking their shot.

Extra grip usually means more balance and a well balanced stance is generally going to create a much smoother and cleaner shot. Lately there has been one concern with metal studded golf shoes and that is the fact they tend to damage greens when players are putting. There is nothing more frustrating for a golfer when their ball strikes a divot in the green when they are putting. It's something that of course has been addressed and with that we can move onto the second type of golf shoe.

Golf Shoe Type Two

The second type of golf shoe that is beginning to become more popular than the first is the rubber studded golf shoe. Most players on the PGA wear a pair of rubber studded golf shoes. Most people who wear them say there is no difference between the level of balance attained from the rubber studs and the metal studs. This is great news because rubber studs tend to make very little if not any damage to the surface of greens. This means that there will be a reduction in the number of balls missing the hole due to divots in the green. This of course is going to save a hec of a lot of frustration for everyone.

Therefore if you are looking to buy a pair of new golf shoes than your best bet is to buy a pair of rubber studded shoes. I mean everyone else is so why not you too!

There are many benefits that come from buying lake golf balls. These golf balls are from top lines, and have been recycled from lakes. These balls are all guaranteed to be top quality, and very affordable. Millions of these lake balls are sold all over Europe every year, and this number is growing.

A grading system is used for balls to help insure optimal quality and savings, these grading levels are Pearl, Pearl-A mixed pack, and practice balls. Pearl quality balls are basically brand new. They are shiny, clean, and may even be "tacky" to the touch. Pearl-A mixed packs contain practically new golf balls that will have some scratches or marks, mixed with Pearl grade balls. The A grade generally look like a ball would after 6-9 holes of play. These are mixed at anywhere from a 50/50 ratio to 25/75 ratio with pearl quality balls generally being the most prevalent in the mixture.

The lowest quality packs are the practice ball packs. They have more major scratching, discoloration, and heavier scuffing. These are perfect for summer nights where you just want to hit a few. If you lose a couple of these balls it is not that big of a deal because they are cheaper, and you don't have to worry about damaging them.

I have used lake balls myself for quite a while and I am more than content. They are great for keeping costs down where compared to new golf balls. These Golf balls are not brand new, although they are nearly so. If you consideration is cost I would always recommend lake balls rather than buying inferior brand.

There tends to be a lot of yellow balls within the cheaper packs and in the bigger stores they can be picked through. I recommend having a good root and try and spot those quality V1 Titleist balls. The other main brands to keep an eye out for are Nike one, Callaway HX Tour, TaylorMade Red or Black and Srixon. Most of the higher quality packs are in quantities of 12 but some golf suppliers have packs as high as 100 but this is a very mixed bag.

Electric golf trolleys make the game of golf enjoyable because they take the strain of carrying the golf clubs whilst you concentrate on your game of golf. When buying a new electric golf trolley there are a few important things to consider before making the final purchase. In order to get the most out of the time and money that you invest into getting one, you will need to review some of the different models out there. Those who have any physical health problems such as a bad back or knees will definitely want to consider getting one. It will allow you to play golf without risking further injury.

The construction and durability of the golf trolley that you buy will be an important factor to keep in mind when shopping for a trolley. You will want to look for an aluminum and steel frame for light weight and strength. Does the trolley store easily and how does it store. Some trolleys fold down and some need the wheels and handle to be removed. How easy is it to lift in and out of your car. If it is heavy it could be difficult and even dangerous for your back. Is it easy to secure your golf bag to the trolley. You want your clubs to be accessible when on the trolley so it is important that the bag remains in place and does not swivel round due to poor fastenings to the trolley.

Before buying a golf trolley, you will need to think about the type of golf course that you play on the most. If you tend to play on especially hilly courses, then you will probably want to look out for a trolley that is particularly powerful. There are two factors to consider here, the power of the motor and the quality and strength of the battery. You will certainly not want the battery to die on you half way round the course. Stability of the trolley will also be important particularly on a hilly course as your trolley tipping over could have unfortunate consequences on the side of a hill.

A remote control electric golf trolley is the ultimate trolley to have on the golf course. Imagine you have selected your club and walked over to play your shot only to find the ball is in a position that requires a different club. No problem, just summon your trolley with the use of the remote control and in no time you will have a full selection of clubs available again. It is almost as good as having your own golf caddy.

Golf, as other items of sports, is all about getting an advantage over your opponents. And nothing helps you better in that than wedges. Golf wedges can turn the direction of the game at any point and is often called the "scoring tool" of the game. They can take you out from a tough situation in the game at any point. Moreover, they help a player in a variety of strokes, whether it is high, low, bump-and-run, or any other.

Golf wedges are of different types, each designed to serve different designs and shots. Knowing the right wedge for each shot and using them accordingly can make a player the master of the game. Here are the four main types of wedges used in golf:

Pitching wedge
This is one that all players use irrespective of their level in the game. It is also the longest wedge in your set considering the size of the bag. It provides the hit of about 100 to 125 yards from the pin.

Sand wedge
Though the name mentions "sand", the wedge is not meant for sand alone. It often comes with the set or you could get it separately. It provide good stopping power.

Gap wedge
These are sold individually and are a late addition to the list of wedges. They fill the gap between the pitching and sand wedges.

Lob wedge
Like the gap wedge these are also sold separately from the set. They are ideal for shorter high shots that should be stopped quickly.

Of these the pitching and the sand wedge are most commonly used. Choosing the right wedge lets you improve the game drastically. To find out which would suit you, you can talk to professionals and experts. You could also browse and find some details online. However, no theory would reach up to practical and therefore the best way to improve your game and know the right golf wedges for you is to practice more with each of them. Practice is what, after all, makes it perfect.

Golf, like most sport, is a game of precision and accuracy. In order to score a hole in one, you need the utmost concentration, and physical and mental strength. Furthermore, you need to match your skills and experience with your golfing accessories and equipment, particularly the golf ball.

For non-golf aficionados, one golf ball is the same as other golf balls. The only major difference such people may see between one ball from another is the manufacturer or brand name. In the eye of a golfer lover, however, golf balls differ in more ways than one.

If you want to improve your game, you need to pay attention to the type, covering material, core structure, and compression rates of a ball. You must bear in mind that your swing and level of play should be matched with the golf ball you use. Thus, you can't expect to be like Tiger Woods simply by buying and using the same golf accessories, shoes, and balls that he uses.

Here are basic golf ball comparisons you need to know to help improve your golf games:

Common Golf Ball Types

Two-piece

If you are just starting to play golf, you most probably need to consider using the two-piece golf ball. This type of ball, aside from being the cheapest type available in the market, is aimed at providing great distance. If your swing is slow, the big rubber core of the ball helps in transferring the energy from the swing to the ball efficiently, thereby providing you with good distance.
If you are a neophyte in the game, you need to concentrate on your accuracy. Hence, you need a ball that will boost your distance, enabling you to concentrate more on building your accuracy. Once you have mastered consistency, then you need to try the other types of golf ball.

Three-piece

The three-piece ball is ideal for advanced players, who have pretty much mastered control, partly because a person wouldn't want to spend too much for a golf ball that will brandish his or her hit-and-miss swings. Such a ball, which is preferred by pro players, is composed of a core, which can be solid or made up of liquid or gel, a layer of wounded thread, and a plastic covering.

Materials used as golf ball coverings

Although there maybe other kinds of golf ball covering, the two most popular are the surlyn and balata.
Balata

Balata golf balls, which are usually three-piece balls, are made of soft covering. Professional golfers prefer such balls because they not only cuts and scuffs easily, but they are also easier to control. Furthermore, balata balls give more spin. However, these balls have shorter life span and are more expensive.

Surlyn

Surlyn balls are more apt for amateur gofers because they are cheaper. Most two-piece golf balls are made of surlyn, a hard material, thus it is more resistant to cuts and scuffs and provide more distance. Aside from being more inexpensive, such balls are also long lasting. However, it is harder to control and does not provide ample spin.

Compression rate

Traditionally, the tightness of the golf ball's thread windings determines its compression rate. Due to recent technological advancement, however, the compression rate of a golf ball is now basically dependent on how the ball is affected when it is hit. The compression rating of golf balls usually range from 70-110.
Low compression balls

Balls with compression rating of 70-80 are considered low compression balls. Such balls are soft and are easily deformed or compressed when hit. Players with slow swings are encouraged to use such ball.
Medium compression balls
Most advanced golfers prefer balls with a compression rate of 90. These medium compression balls provide both softness and ease of control.

High compression balls

Golf balls with 100-110 compression rating are high compression balls. Such balls are hard and are less likely to deform upon impact, compared to those with lower compression rates. A high compression ball is ideal for those whose club head speeds are high.

Be keen in knowing how the type of ball or its compression rates affect your performance. Keep in mind that the knowledge of golf ball comparisons is handy in enhancing your strengths and masking your weaknesses in the golf course.

Pull trolleys are a fantastic energy saving device; made from lightweight metal they should increase your comfort as you make your way to the green. The Pull Trolley comes with wheels, a platform to fit your cart bag on and a handle for greater ease as you complete your golf round.

As you may have guessed, the best golf balls are a personal opinion. Every golfer has his own opinion of what the best golf balls are. To many, the best golf balls are those with which they scored their lowest ever score, or hit a hole in one. Beginners will usually find that the best golf balls for them are those that travel farthest, while the pros may prefer a ball with a higher degree of compression which gives more spin, and hence will be easier to control better while in flight and after landing. So the best golf balls for some are not necessarily the best golf balls for others.

Titleist says,"The Titleist DT SoLo golf ball applies a high-lift design to maximize distance for golfers with average and moderate swing speeds seeking the ultimate combination of distance with soft feel and guaranteed cut-proof durability. This ball gives me nice distance, with moderate action on the greens. I have hit other Titleist balls, as well as Taylor Made Distance Inergels, and a variety of others. Dimple Aerodynamics helps maintain spin at the apex, delivering maximum distance through superior design rather than hard compression. It's the kind of distance that will send your buddies home crying to their mommies.

Nike One golf balls are definitely worth a look. Nike has joined the game late, but with Tiger Woods on their side, they are slowly winning market share with their line of Nike One Golf balls. Consumer Reports did a test on golf balls and rated these Nike balls just behind the Titleist Pro V1's which cost $45/dozen. I personally dont care for nike balls. With a price and product that does what it claims to do in advertisements, I guess the only thing I don't like, is that it looks like any other Nike ball.

The Callaway Golf Balls are the balls I usually play, if I'm just hacking it around and not taking it too seriously. The Callaway CXB golf ball is designed to provide a softer feel. I started looking at the Callaway line and found that walmart has several balls the CXB fits everything I am looking for in a golf ball. You can find the Callaway's at your local pro shop, but i don't know about the Nike brand. Callaway is the only ball maker that uses hexagon shaped dimples on their balls and more recently has been manufacturing HX Tours with 6 deeper dimples on the surface of the balls. The balls have variations on the size of the dimples and also some have deeper dimples than others, Callaway Golf is the main supplier of the hexagonal design golf balls, such as the Callaway HX .

Golf is known to many as the beautiful game, and with the way that it is played along with the many spectacular golf courses that are home to the game around the world, it is not difficult to see why. Another ubiquitous name for golf that is very much appropriate in the modern context is the gentleman's game. Since the first origins of the game of golf, it has ever been a game enjoyed by all, but mostly associated with the gentlemen whose main pastime it was. And a big part of the roots of golf as a gentleman's game can still be seen in the dress code required by golfing etiquette. With Nike golf clothing, you can be sure that you will not only meet the requirements of the golfing code of etiquette, but also truly look the part of a golfer.

One of the more remarkable things about golf is that its etiquette really is just that – guidelines that golfers are expected to follow and not hard and fast rules that are enforced by some authority. Etiquette is extremely important to a true golfer, however, and it is golfing etiquette that is in large part responsible for keeping the game fun while on the golf course and preventing golfers from annoying one another or interfering with others' game.

In the modern context, golf is not merely a game to be played for enjoyment, but also a social and business tool. Particularly in the business context, golf is an excellent platform for meeting with business partners or clients and the relatively easy pace of golf makes it perfect to talk and interact with those golfing with you. With business possibilities and opportunities on the line, however, it is important to show your potential partners or clients that you are a competent and respectable golfer, because this will affect their impression of how well you will perform in the business arena.

This is why it is important to look the part of a golfer, and Nike golf clothing is the perfect solution. Nike golf clothing has been designed to make you look like a proper golfer, while still allowing you the flexibility and freedom of movement that you will need in order to keep it from interfering with your swing. Many other brands that claim to specialize in clothing designed specifically for golf do not provide that freedom of movement, and many golfers find that their clothing interferes with their swing, throwing them off their game.

With Nike golf clothing, you have a wide range of golfing apparel to choose from, and you will surely find something that will suit your style as a golfer. More importantly, because of the way Nike golf clothing is cut and designed, anyone who sees you wearing Nike golf clothing will form an impression of you as being well-dressed and very civilized – an excellent impression to cultivate when meeting with clients or your business partners.

If you're having problems with those long drives and are finding that irons just aren't doing the trick for you, why not give one of the new rescue golf clubs a try? If you're an experienced golfer that's been paying attention to the pro shops and internet forums you may already be experienced with these and how they can improve your game, but for the rest, here's some information on these, the latest creation in golf clubs, and why they actually shave some points off your score.

Rescue golf clubs are actually a type of hybrid or utility club and they typically replace your long irons, from your 1 iron all the way up to your 5 iron or even better. Hybrid clubs are those that combine the facets of both a wood and an iron. This gives you the distance of a long iron but with a higher trajectory. The shafts are shorter like an iron, as well as the face being stiffer but the components give you the distance of a wood. Many are finding that rescue golf clubs give them better distance and a softer landing than regular woods or irons.

So who should consider these rescue golf clubs and when are they used? If you're having trouble reaching 220 yards with a 4 iron you may want to consider switching to a hybrid. They give you the distance you need as well as the consistency you should be getting from your irons.

Rescue or hybrid golf clubs are good off the tee if you're facing a hazard near the green. Because they give you the distance you need you can reach the green but because they land so much softer you're not likely to overshoot the pin either. Longer bunker shots are also good when using hybrid or rescue golf clubs because you need to get it airborne but because sand traps are usually close to the green you don't want to overshoot it either, which is easy to do. Rescue golf clubs let you get the ball into the air and past the trap for longer bunkers. They are also excellent to use when you're in the rough since the stiffer face makes it possible for you to manage this rough terrain more easily than any other club type.

Rescue golf clubs are usually very affordable which means that it should be easier for you to try some out without breaking the budget. They've very versatile and even the pros are starting to stock them in their bags. So no matter what your skill level or handicap you might want to consider trying one of these rescues.

Playing golf without the right golf equipment is very frustrating. There is simply no reason to put yourself through that. Why would not you make it as easy on yourself as possible?

Purchasing golf equipment today is not cheap. First you have to wade through all of the golf training aids and gimmicks that people have developed to "shoot low scores today." It seems that everybody and their brother thinks they know a way or have developed something that can help you to improve your golf game.

If you are like most players who simply enjoy playing the game of golf in your free time after work or on the weekends, you do not need a lot of fancy equipment to enjoy the game and gain some exercise and fellowship from the game. All you really need to play the game are golf clubs, golf balls and a golf bag of course to carry your clubs around the golf course.

The rules of golf state that you can carry up to 14 clubs. Notice that this reads up to 14 clubs. If you are a beginner or a higher handicapper and you are purchasing new golf equipment you may not need to carry all 14 clubs. Most manufacturers will now price their clubs individually. This allows you to pick and choose the clubs that you currently need and can add other clubs as you improve.

No matter your skill level, you really do need to focus on your putter and wedges. You will want to find golf equipment that you like to look at when you are addressing the golf ball. If you do not like what you are looking at, it will be more difficult for you to hit a good shot.

A golf bag is a piece of golf equipment that you simply cannot do without. Think about having to tow around your golf balls and your clubs on the golf course without one. It would take some of the fun out of the game.

Golf bags are made from a variety of materials such as nylon or leather. When choosing a bag consider how you get around while playing your game. Do you ride in a golf cart or do you walk the course? If you are someone who rides a golf cart, you will likely want to have a large enough golf bag to contain not only your clubs, but towels, balls, tees, and other accessories.

Now if you are the type that walks the course, you will definitely want to invest in a light weight stand bag that comes with a dual shoulder strap in order to be more comfortable.

In addition, there are many golf accessories you could consider when shopping for golf equipment such as golf shoes, golf glove, an umbrella, a club brush, ball markers, and golf tees. The decision is yours in regards to which type of golf clubs, golf balls, golf bags, and accessories you get. You have to decide based on your budget, what type of golf equipment you need, as well as how it helps your golf game. Just remember, the more you spend does not equate to more fun on the course.

In addition every golfer's physical capability and swing is idiosyncratic. Many of today's top golf clubs can be custom fit for lie angle, shaft type and length, grip type and size. Custom fitting golf clubs involves assorted easy measurements and a fast self-assessment of your game. This custom golf club has become more than a fad that even not so professional golfers probe its waters.

Ability is what you're capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it. Lou HoltzCustom fitting is the means for tailoring a golf club to customize your personal swing.
Whatever your level, with a custom golf club the aim is to guarantee that if you do make a good swing, the club will be square at impact and should produce a straight shot.

Custom Golf Club How To's:

Your height and the distance in inches from your wrist to the floor are used together to determine the length of a custom golf club that is suitable for you. The starting point for club length can vary up to 3 '-inch ranging from ladies to men plus 1 '-inch. A tall person with long arms can very easily require shorter clubs than an average height person with short arms. About 80 percent of golfers are standard length.
Your age, handicap (if you happen to have one), self-assessed skill level, rough golf swing speed and club you use at the 150 yard marker are all combined to establish the custom golf club's shaft flex that is appropriate for you.

Custom fitting can fix your slice. If you slice the ball it means that the toe of the club is leading into the ball which opens the face of the club. That may be down to a swing fault, but it could be because the club is too flat. So as part of the custom fitting procedure you can make the custom golf club more upright to help with this. This will mean that the toe of the club will be slightly off the ground at address to remedy.

There are alternate methods of fitting according to custom golf club manufacturers but ultimately they are all laboring to better your game. To begin with simple measurements such as wrist-to-floor, height and hand size are taken and will point you to the right size club and at what angle it should be to the ground. Then you will take a club and hit some balls. One method is to place impact tape on the bottom of the custom golf club and an impact board on the floor.

As you hit the ball the board will leave a mark on the tape showing whether the heel or the toe of the custom golf club is striking the floor first. The resulting mark will show whether the club face needs to be flatter or more upright. Then things get a bit more pioneering. Analysis equipment can measure everything from your club speed to the side spin of the ball so that you can get maximum distance from your shot. You can also measure the launch angle of the ball, how much backspin you generate and impact efficiency - all which affect distance. The angle in which the custom golf club approaches the ball and the sidespin of it can help fix your game too.

Rather than bringing down your old clubs, it might be better to start from scratch. It's a big fallacy that custom fitting is only for good golfers. Anyone can benefit. That said, if you hope to upgrade a new set of clubs with the same manufacturer they may be able to adjust your old set to become custom golf clubs.

Custom fitting won't remedy all your bad shots. Coaching will sort that out. But if you do make a good swing, then the custom golf club will arrive properly at impact and should produce a straight shot at your target. That alone will save shots during a round.

Lastly, custom fitting is often free of charge. But it is usually on the condition that you buy some clubs once you've been fitted. So it surely depends on what your budget is. If you're ready to buy a new set of clubs it's positively worth getting fitted.

Golf is rarely a cheap sport. Buying membership to a course will put quite a large dent in your pocket, and will probably even have to be renewed some time in the future. The golf clubs themselves can cost a small fortune. However, nobody ever said that the accessories had to be expensive. It is possible to get all of the golf accessories that you could ever need for very cheap, or even for free if you get lucky. Read on to find out about where to look for the cheapest golf accessories, and how you can make sure that you never overpay again for something that you can buy for cheaper elsewhere.

Auctions, especially estate auctions, are great places to go for golf equipment. You will be able to get a detailed description of the item before bidding begins, and possibly see it with your own eyes and test it out for a bit. Once the auction starts you will be faced with some competition almost certainly if the item is desirable (other people know to look at auctions too! This information is not exclusive). Be prepared to pay what it is worth, whether this is below the suggested retail price or not. If you win the item and you ended up paying less than you would have at the store, then be proud of yourself – auctions can be challenging places for many people.

Real world auctions aren't the only ones that offer cheap items. EBay, the world's most popular auction site, has a number of golf accessories that would be hard to find otherwise. If you are an experienced eBay bidder then you already know how the whole system works. You punch in your highest bid, and simply wait to see if anybody else is going to bid higher. If someone outbids you then you may find out that your highest bid wasn't actually your highest bid, and you'll increase it just to try for a second chance at the item. This is how the bidding wars start. It can be tempting to keep bidding higher and higher, until the final cost after shipping would be higher than retail. Never let this happen. If it gets close, just quit and go buy the item in the store.

Yard sales are another good place to look for people's old golf equipment that they no longer want. Yard sales often offer the cheapest prices you could ask for, and most of the time the person setting the prices has no idea about the worth of the item (which can work for you or against you). If you watch the newspapers for yard sale times, you will start to notice patterns in the time as well as the geographical location. Just establish a route that you can follow every week to look for yard sales and possibly find what golf accessories.

Golf accessories are hard to find for cheap, but they are anything but impossible to find. You can simply establish a routine that you will follow every  week or so. Check all of the online stores, all of the yard sales, and any other venues that you may have in mind. This way, when someone decides to sell their golf accessories you will be the first one to be there to buy them.

Buying you first set of golf clubs is never easy. Some people keep asking me if irons and woods have to be the same brand, or if they should clone names. My answer is usually always the same, as long as you know their composition and they fit your weight, length, shaft and flex requirements.

While you can always buy used clubs or older models, these won't give you the high quality of training clubs offered by the larger name brands. But before you buy anything, you should definitely try out the product in question and make sure that it performs up to your expectations on the golf course. A lot of your decision will have to do with the handling and feel of the vehicle, each brand will drive differently. Make sure you take the models you're interested in for a test drive and see how each of them handles.

In a society that is increasing name brand conscious, many of us are tempted to simply buy what everyone else seems to be buying. Selecting the proper golf clubs, however, is something that you shouldn't do without having a good idea of what types are available and what the specific use of each club is.

Too cheap golf club sets don't have the same calculated technical qualities as the discount womens irons and woods manufactured by the big brands and wellknown custom club makers. They spend lots of time to research for example the proper head sizes and forms of a woman golf club.

Alternatively, you can even trade in used golf clubs for a brand new golf clubs or another used golf clubs. Choosing a used golf club sets can be as simple as going to the nearest golf store and buy a set of clubs off the shelf with the golf brand that you want. Or, go to any garage sales, try a few swings and then take them to the tee right away. The goal when buying golf clubs should be to own the best golf clubs you can afford, whether they are name brands, used, or a reproduction of one of the name brands. Golf clubs can be purchased at many different types of establishments such as discount stores, buying clubs, specialty shops, catalogs, or the Internet, which offers an almost limitless variety of clubs and bargains, including used golf clubs.

Most will focus primarily on brand, clubhead look or shaft strength. No matter what brand you decide on, you should definitely never buy golf clubs that are outside of your skill level. This is the most detrimental thing that you could possibly do.

Some people raise their self-esteem by buying a name brand club for more money. Whether you choose to shop from a golf equipment catalog, or visit top-notch pro shops, you'll want to be informed about brands, manufacturers, and all the new and innovative equipment. The best way to do this is with golf equipment reviews. So do your research and ask other golfers, sometimes just asking is the best way to find the best golf clubs.

Longer golf drives can be achieved simply by having a longer golf swing, because the longer you swing, while still maintaining a good solid golf swing, the more you will allow the club added time to build up speed and move faster. In this article I am going to share with you one simple thing which you can easily incorporate into your golf swing to help you to swing longer without you actually having to try to swing longer. Sound strange?

Trust me, it's not. Some of the greatest golfers in the world have done this.

For example, if you watch Jack Nicklaus swing you'll notice that he cocks and turns his head to the right as he is setting up to the golf ball. In fact, Nicklaus does this so much that he ends up looking at the golf ball with basically only his left eye. The main reason Jack Nicklaus does this is to allow himself more room to make a bigger shoulder turn, along with making it easier for him to swing on an upright swing plane. So if it's good enough for Jack Nicklaus then it's good enough for you. To try this move simply setup to a golf ball as normal, but then before you start to swing simply turn your head slightly to the right while keeping all other parts of your body in the same position.

Many other top pro golfers also use this move in their golf swing to allow for longer drives. Another example of a top professional golfer who does this is Tom Watson. Some golfers prefer to do this move before they swing the club, whereas others like to do it as they are taking the club away. You'll have to experiment and find which method works best for you.

The great thing with doing this is that it will help you to make a full, high backswing. You could never accuse Jack Nicklaus or Tom Watson of swinging too short or too flat. So give this one simple move a try, and I'm sure it'll help you to be hitting longer golf drives in no time.

Skills on golf ball comparisons are needed for you to effectively improve your game as a golfer. Even if you are not a golfer but selecting a golf ball for someone you know, these skills can prove handy as they will help you make a correct purchase.

Since the 1950s, golf balls have become more and more technologically advanced than ever. With rapid changing technology, methods of producing a golf ball tailored to individual golfers' needs is crucial.
With such technology backing the golf balls of today, they have become very much a factor in optimizing your golf game as compared to the mid 1500s. Hence, every golfer needs to be playing a golf ball that is optimizing his or her game for maximum performance.

As each golf ball is very much different from the other, there are some critical factors that need to be compared to suit your needs. For effective golf ball comparisons, these areas needs to be considered.
1. Materials of a golf ball - Golf ball composition differ from manufacturer to manufacturer. Majority of the golf balls used to be hard cover surlyn types but it is not necessary the case anymore. The materials vary to suit the different types of feel, distance, spin or trajectory that they are trying to achieve for certain categories of golfers.

The common type of materials are surlyn, ionomer, urethane and polybutadiene. Surlyn is normally used as the cover. There are however exceptional cases with Surlyn as a thin outer layer for enhanced velocity and trajectory while exhibiting control with Urethane. Urethane is the softest material used for the cover which encourages spin around the green. Ionomer works great with as a soft cover replacing Surlyn for more spin. Polybutadiene is generally rubber that forms the core of the golf ball.

2. The construction of a golf ball - Now golf ball comparisons can even mean comparing the pieces of a golf ball. Compared to the old balata golf ball, the pieces of a golf ball can vary from two to four pieces. Even the type of pieces vary from brand to brand. Callaway features a duo core four piece golf ball in their Tour I series. In comparison with Bridgestone B330 series double mantle layer four piece golf ball, both are four piece yet with different constructions.

The good news is, you do not need to bother about the various types of constructions. You only need to focus on the core, cover, the layer beneath the cover and the dimples.

For selection process, two piece are normally distance balls for the high handicapped golfers. Three piece would have a added control with a bit more spin on the green. However as engineers get better, this information is no longer that accurate but can only be used as a guide for golf ball comparisons.

3. Compression ratings - Golf ball ratings are mostly in the low compression ratings. Compression ratings range from 0 the softest to 200 the highest. A low compression means less velocity and less driver spin on initial impact off the tee and vice versa. A higher velocity on general means more distance and on some occasions, harder feel.

Note: Compression ratings are a largely over rated and debated issue on the net. For more clarification, check out my website for more details.

Most golf balls in the market are low compression ratings. These type of compression are suited for lower swing rate players to achieve a better distance.

4. Dimples - These are the small depressions on the golf balls which we so commonly see nowadays. These dimples improve the flight trajectory and enhances greater carry and distance. The difference between the dimples from one golf ball to another is the size and the depth. On a general guideline, a more shallow dimple from the appropriate depth will increase the height of trajectory and a deeper dimple will reduce the height trajectory. All affects the distance and type of ball roll you want to have after landing.

For a general guide, know the type of ball flight you currently have. If you have a low trajectory and you are playing a distance ball and wish to improve your distance, you might consider to change to a golf ball with shallower dimples for a improved distance performance.

With these information, you can equip yourself the skills in determine the feel, spin, distance, trajectory, tendency to side spin or hook, roll etc. These will aid you in selecting the golf balls best for you and your current level of skill.

For example, comparing golf ball A and B, you will know which one is harder on the outer casing when you read the technical specs. Surlyn cover compared with urethane cover will mean that the golf ball with surlyn cover is much faster in velocity on initial impact should all other factors remain constant.
However, there is still more into this than you think. Always think select the initial golf ball followed by optimize, tweak and upgrade to other golf balls as your game grows!
